Lake Mckenzie

World Heritage Area

We stopped travelling early afternoon having reached popular Lake Mackenzie.

Unfortunately about an hour after the shot below was taken we returned to a beach only to find it littered with cigarette butts. The main offenders had been a group of tourists travelling with one of the tour companies. We picked up around 60 ( Sixty ) butts and deposited them in the special bins provided.
It seems tourists do not understand what "BIN YOUR BUTTS" means!!

Cigarette butts take forever to break down.

The camping spot at Lake McKenzie is well laid out with toilets and cold showers. Each site has a campfire and wood is provided.

A three hour drive brought us back to the eastern beach and the weck of the Maheno
